Each Giant Chess piece has a top part that screws into the base. The base of each piece can then be filled with pebbles or sand in order to weight it as necessary.



These Garden Games Giant Chess sets are very similar to the Rolly Giant Chess sets, but have a simpler design and are made from a marginally thinner PVC. The bases are also made from 2 parts rather than 1 so that they can stack inside one another for easier shipping. Excellent quality for the price and generally fine for light public use, but we recommend the Rolly or Uber set for heavier, intensive or unattended public use.
