Description

Short Mat Bowlers require the use of fenders and a centre block. The white fenders prevent the bowls shooting off the ends of the carpet and are the equivalent of the ditch around lawn bowls greens.



The middle block sits in the middle of the carpet forcing bowlers to bowl around them and preventing aggressive and fast shots which are inappropriate on these smaller, indoor carpets.



The fenders are quite heavy and are robustly made from a painted softwood.



Both Fenders and middle block are compulsory for the game of Short Mat Bowls.
