Description
A beautiful Parchis game from Spanish manufacturer, Cayro. Parchis belongs to the Cross and Circle family of games and is very similar to Ludo and Parcheesi but with a few subtle differences and rules variations. It is a hugely popular game throughout Spain.
This stunning version of the game comprises a contemporary-styled board with a sleek, laminated, gloss finish and a felted underside. The playing pieces are stained wooden squares and four stylish rectangular dice shakers are also included, along with four dice – one in each colour.
The objective of the game, like Ludo, is to race all your pawns around the board to the finishing area. The first to successfully move all four pawns around the board is the winner. However, there are a few rules that can be incorporated that make the game more strategic and complex; for example, blockades can be made by two pawns – but only in ‘safe squares’, and pawns can ‘eat’ each other if they land on a square that is already occupied. The ‘eaten’ pawn is then sent back to the start. These additional rules add more strategy to the game and mean that is is not entirely dependent on the roll of dice and luck.
