Description
Quoridor is a maze game which really meets the criteria for a classic because it’s so easy to learn that even quite young children can have a go and yet it quickly becomes clear that you’ll need to think pretty hard, if you’re going to win.
Quoridor requires strategy, logic and spatial awareness skills. The game is usually played at a fairly quick pace for a thinking game – games typically last around 15 minutes.
The solid wooden construction of this ‘Classic’ edition gives it an elegant, coffee-table appeal which just adds to the enjoyment of play. And it can be played either as a 2 or a 4 player game.
The rules are ‘amazingly’ simple: just make it through the maze that is built up over time before your opponent does.
On your turn you may either move your pawn one space OR place a wall. Walls can be placed anywhere on the board but can’t make it impossible for you opponent to get to the other side (just very hard!). The first pawn to reach the opposite side wins.
