A truly exquisite – and extravagant – set of hand-painted, metal chess pieces by Italfama of Italy. The Renaissance set features wonderful sculpted, heavy chessmen, vibrantly hand-painted and finely decorated.
The chess pieces are expertly detailed and contrast nicely in blue and red finishes. The king piece stands at an imposing 5 and 1/2 inches and weighs approximately 400 grams. The size and weight make the pieces a joy to play with, whilst the vibrant decoration and elegant design further enhance their appeal. The chess pieces’ contrasting brass and nickel bases are all the same diameter, measuring 1 and 1/2 inches (37mm). Please note that a chess board is not included. Our recommendation is to pair these chess pieces with the Italfama briar and maple 51cm chessboard or other chessboard with squares that are around 50mm.
